Leaving La Paz

Hola, well my month of working here in La Paz is over. Its been a lot of fun, but now its time to move on and get some travelling in. So here is a map. The red line is where I have been. The green line is where Im going (probably). So I´m aiming for Christmas on the beach in Brazil... which will be nice! But before then, my next stop is Cochabamba in Bolivia. Oh joy, another Bolivian night bus. I opted for the most luxurious expensive bus I could find. 4 quid. Thats a lot of money here. I could go out for dinner 4 times on that. So hopefully I wont have to sit next to a crate of chickens and maybe the heater will work. But Im not getting my hopes up too much. Ciao for now!

4 quid will get you home on the night bus from zone 1. I bet its more dangerous than having chickens next to you..? (It won't buy you lunch four times though.)

helloooo! thank you for the great christmas card and postcard. Sounds like you are having a really fabulous time and your piccies are amazing. You definately have to go to Copacabana beach for Christmas time, we loved it there, the view from Sugar Loaf Mountain and from up by the Christ statue are a must - you will love it. I still look at our piccies from top of Sgar Loaf and think, "get me there now!" If you have time you should pop in on J's sister Philippa and family near Itu as well, they would give you a lovely brazilian meal. We've just got back from month out in Australia - it was amazing, and wish I was back there too, not in windy cold dreary Blighty!!
Anyways, we send you many many happy christmas wishes and happy Brazilian travelling wishes. Oh, and you must buy yourself 60pence bottle of Cachaca (v strong sugar cane alcohol) in Brazil - once bought, mix it with lime and sugar and ice to create a delicious caipirinha! Enjoy! Bon voyage! Love Sarah & Jonathanx

hola amigo,

Great blog mate, we can definitely empathise with some of your adventures- one minute your living it up on the ski slopes...the next your trying to persuade a 50 yr old taxi driver called Juan why he can not have your underpants in exchange for a taxi fair..ahhh such are the contrasts of South America!

Anyway, we´re now chilling in your favourite place Bariloche...we were convinced the hippies you spoke of were in fact a cult..they tried to get us to sit around a table listening to messages of love from the guitar..and they spoke in this weird monotone which implied: "you will accept our unified message of love or we will stab you in the face with this here icepick"...haha

Keep in touch Alan, we´re heading to your homecountry shortly so may see may see you when you get home..

Adrian and Nicki :)
